Health Therapies Clinics — Freshwater NSW
The latest from HTC — new practitioners, facility developments, community events and Northern Beaches wellness news.
April 2025
Health Therapies Clinics is proud to announce the opening of our dedicated Sound Healing Room at the Freshwater clinic — a purpose-designed acoustic space with specialist installation to optimise the resonance and containment of therapeutic sound. The room accommodates individual and small-group sound bath sessions, and is equipped with an extensive collection of Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, tuning forks, koshi chimes and a professional monochord.
The new room responds to consistently strong demand from Northern Beaches clients seeking sound healing as both a standalone treatment and as a complement to acupuncture and other therapies offered at HTC. Bookings for individual and group sound bath sessions are now open online.
FacilitiesWe're delighted to welcome three new practitioners to the Health Therapies Clinics collective this month: a ATMS-registered naturopath with specialisation in women's hormonal health, a remedial massage therapist with twelve years of sports clinic experience, and a kinesiologist with extensive background in working with children and learning difficulties. The additions expand HTC's capacity and breadth significantly. Introductory appointments are available through the online booking portal.
TeamIn February, Health Therapies Clinics hosted a Community Wellness Day at the Freshwater Farmers Market, offering free 15-minute mini-treatments — shoulder massage, acupressure, and mini-reflexology — to market visitors. Over 80 people experienced complementary treatments across the day, and many visited the clinic for the first time in the weeks that followed. We plan to continue community events through 2025 — watch this space for dates and details.
CommunityWe're proud to have been awarded ATMS Facility Recognition in January 2025 — a formal acknowledgement by the Australian Traditional Medicine Society that HTC meets their standards for an integrative natural health facility. This recognition affirms our commitment to professional standards, practitioner qualifications and the quality of the patient environment. HTC is believed to be the first facility on the Northern Beaches to receive this recognition.
RecognitionFollowing significant client enquiry, Health Therapies Clinics has added kinesiology to its treatment offering with the arrival of two ATMS-registered kinesiologists to the collective. Kinesiology uses muscle testing and bio-energetic assessment to identify and address stress patterns, emotional blocks, learning difficulties and chronic fatigue presentations. Initial sessions are 75 minutes. Please see our blog for a full explanation of what kinesiology involves and who it helps most.
New ServiceWe welcomed a new senior remedial massage therapist to the HTC collective in November — bringing twelve years of clinical experience from sports clinics, physiotherapy centres and private practice. Their specialisations include deep tissue work for athletic recovery, postural correction for office-based presentations, and pre/post-natal massage. Appointments are booking quickly; early booking is recommended for those seeking evening or weekend slots.
TeamHealth Therapies Clinics participated in the Northern Beaches Health Expo at Manly Markets in October, connecting with the broader Northern Beaches wellness community and presenting information on our practitioner collective model. We were delighted to meet practitioners, patients and health-curious community members alike — and to reinforce our position as the Northern Beaches' most comprehensive integrative wellness hub. Thank you to all who stopped by our stand.
CommunityOur gift voucher system has been upgraded to full online functionality with instant digital delivery. HTC gift vouchers can now be purchased at any time, delivered immediately by email, and redeemed for any treatment at the clinic. Personalised messages can be included with each voucher. This has been by far our most-requested clinic improvement — we're delighted to have it in place before the Christmas season. Visit our Gift Vouchers page to purchase.
Clinic UpdateHTC introduced a series of Winter Wellness Packages in August — curated combinations of treatments designed to support immune resilience, energy and mood through the cooler months. Packages included an Immune Boost combination (acupuncture + naturopathic review), a Deep Rest package (remedial massage + sound healing), and a Whole-Body Winter Tune-Up (comprehensive three-session programme). Due to significant uptake, similar packages will be available again in the coming winter season.
PackagesIn July 2024, Health Therapies Clinics formalised a wellness partnership with Freshwater Surf Life Saving Club, providing access to remedial massage, acupuncture and naturopathic consultations for club members at a preferential rate. The partnership reflects the growing alignment between the surf lifesaving community and natural health services on the Northern Beaches. We look forward to supporting the health and recovery of Freshwater SLSC's patrol members and competitive swimmers.
PartnershipA collaborative research project between HTC and the University of Technology Sydney's Faculty of Health was completed in June 2024, examining integrative healthcare delivery in community clinic settings on the Northern Beaches. Preliminary findings — focused on patient-reported outcomes across multiple modalities — were positive. The research team presented findings at the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association conference in October. We are proud to contribute to the evidence base for community-based integrative care.
ResearchLooking back over the 2024 calendar year, Health Therapies Clinics served over 1,200 individual patients and hosted 18 practitioners across our collective model. Demand for naturopathy, sound healing and holistic psychotherapy grew most significantly — all consistent with broader Northern Beaches trends toward integrative, preventive and mental-health-inclusive care. We added four new practitioners, upgraded our booking system and participated in three community events. We are deeply grateful to our patients, practitioners and community for an exceptional year.
